‘Creating Our Country’s Good: Collaborative Writing Practice and Political Ideals at the Royal Court in the 1980s’. In: Bush, Sophie. A Critical Companion to the Theatre of Timberlake Wertenbaker. London: Methuen, 2013.
This chapter examines the collaborative process that was used to develop Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Our Country’s Good (1989), and in doing so, reaches a conclusion about the relationship between Wertenbaker and director Max Stafford-Clark, their own preoccupations that were inherent in the development of the project and the extent of the creative agency of the performers who participated in the process.
